I agree that in all the circumstances a tea party' does not seem necessary, but I think that if Mr. Cook can spare the time it will be 照 excellent thing if he could go to the cocktail party given by the Board of Trade on the 17th May.

Perhaps you will show him the attached suggestions for the Secretary of State's speech at the luncheon party on the 15th May which seem to me to be admirable with some slight amendment on the last page. As modified I think it says all that is necessary as regards current difficulties.
